ESTATES
Our seven estates.
Predicatella, Coppa Castello, Ricci, Zecchino, San Paolo, Il Vignale and De.Ma. are the seven estates that give rise to Teanum wines. All the properties are located in the Tavoliere delle Puglie and together they cover 150 hectares of vineyards.
Over the years we have carried out accurate experimental tests, studying and interpreting the responses of our grapes, to identify the best varieties to be bred in the different areas of this large territory. We use sapling and bilateral guyot training systems on our native and international vines.
Predicatella
The vineyards of the Predicatella estate, in the countryside of San Severo, Foggia, are the closest to the winery. They host some of the best-known traditional Apulian vines and extend for about 18 hectares. In these vineyards we produce both white grapes, Falanghina and Chardonnay, and red grapes, Montepulciano and Aglianico, and we put our new cultivation techniques to the test, before using them in the other estates.
Coppa Castello
The smallest of our estates extends for about 4 hectares and is characterized by a calcareous soil, particularly important for the quality of our grapes. In fact, limestone acts positively from a chemical and physical point of view, giving the wines compact and deep colors, intense and varied aromas and good general structure. Taste our Primitivo Wine and our Aglianico, seeing is believing!
Ricci – San Paolo – Zecchino
Ricci, San Paolo and Zecchino estates constitute the beating heart of Teanum, as they guard the most historic vineyards. They extend for about 50 hectares on the outskirts of San Severo, Foggia, in a geographical area historically devoted to the cultivation of wine grapes. Here the microclimate, the soil and the exposure are ideal for growing red grape varieties, such as Montepulciano, at the base of the Tiati Gold Vintage San Severo PDO Reserve.
Il Vignale
Innovative, in continuous expansion and with about 60 hectares of espalier vineyards planted in the last decade, Il Vignale is the experimental center of Teanum. The sandy soil and the hot-dry climate make the estate capable of ranging from native vines, such as Primitivo Wine and Susumaniello, to international vines, such as Syrah and Chardonnay.
De.Ma.
De.Ma. estate extends for about 12 hectares in the lower Tavoliere. It is composed of calcareous-marly soils, which give the white grape varieties an excellent fixed acidity, and has a climate characterized by a pleasantly breeze, which helps to keep the grapes strong and healthy. These characteristics make it perfect for our Òtre Chardonnay!
